Adapting a long-established UK veterinary acupuncture course into an interactive online format.

the challenge

The Western Veterinary Acupuncture group had been running its foundation course for almost twenty years. It was looking for a way to expand beyond face-to-face teaching in the UK by making the course virtual. It challenged Trimble to produce an engaging, educational design that would maintain the high quality of its existing, well-established course.

THE process

Through a process of structured scripting and course design, the Trimble Group team identified the main concepts for the programme. Depending on the learning outcome, we then worked with the client to select the best approach for each section. This was achieved in the final production by producing captivating lectures, well-thought-out hands-on practicals and anatomical diagrams. Our team then used our extensive Animal Model Studio network to select multiple dogs and horses for practical sections of the course. Filming was completed on multiple sets at our studios and on location in the North of England.

The impact of the course has meant that our participants turn up fully engaged and ready to take part in the two practical days. The information is available online forever and participants have access to the points resources, which they've never had before. It is a real added value to the course for them.
